HCMC – Flood tides in HCMC is expected to peak between October 29 and 30, with water levels projected to rise to 1.7 meters, surpassing warning level three, the most critical level.
The Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning about potential flooding in HCMC as water levels at the Phu An Station on the Saigon River approach danger level three.
As of today, October 28, water levels at the HCMC station have already reached 1.61-1.63 meters.
Meanwhile, water levels along the southeastern region’s coastline are anticipated to continue rising, with the peak at the Vung Tau station expected to reach 4.1 meters.
Low-lying areas near rivers without dikes are at risk of flooding, especially in the morning and afternoon, which may lead to saltwater intrusion into these river areas.
Authorities are advising relevant agencies to take measures to mitigate the impact of floods resulting from high tides and heavy rains.
