HCMC – The Zhao Shang Yi Dun, a Chinese-flagged cruise ship, has arrived in Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province, today, November 28, with 728 passengers on board.
This is the first such Chinese vessel to visit Quang Ninh Province this year, said an official of the provincial Department of Tourism.
Passengers of the Zhao Shang Yi Dun are planned to tour Halong Bay, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage site, and explore several other tourist attractions in Hanoi and Danang, before departing for Hong Kong.
In the rest of the year, Halong is expected to welcome back the Zhao Shang Yi Dun vessel four more times, bringing in around 4,000 passengers. Until March 2024, the ship will make a total of 14 trips to the city, carrying some 12,000 passengers.
The cruise season at Halong International Cruise Port begins in October, marked by the arrival of several colossal cruise liners from Europe and the Americas.
Nearly 60 cruise ships have already been registered for port calls at the Halong International Cruise Port next year, taking over 70,000 passengers to the city.
