HCMC – Israel’s national carrier EL AL Airlines plans to launch direct flights between Tel Aviv and Hanoi City from October 24 this year, with an initial frequency of three flights per week.
Vietnam’s Trade Office and Embassy in Israel met with EL AL executives on May 12 to discuss support for the proposed route, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The airline said it is finalizing plans for direct services between Ben Gurion Airport and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi City. It also asked Vietnamese authorities to facilitate related procedures for the launch.
Under the plan, EL AL will operate three weekly flights during the 2026-2027 winter schedule, from October 24, 2026 to March 25, 2027, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner wide-body aircraft. The carrier said it may increase the frequency if travel demand rises.
EL AL is the second Israeli airline to pursue direct flights to Vietnam. Earlier this year, Arkia Israeli Airlines launched direct flights to Hanoi City on January 5, 2026, with one to three flights per week.
Vietnam’s Trade Office and Embassy in Israel are also assisting Arkia in procedures to obtain approval for a new direct route between Tel Aviv and HCMC.
The expansion of direct air links between Israel and Vietnam is expected to support travel, trade and tourism between the two countries.
The routes are also expected to improve connectivity for businesses, investors and tourists, while boosting air cargo transport and broader economic and commercial cooperation between Vietnam and Israel.
