HCMC – A foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise in the Mekong Delta province of Long An has announced an astonishing VND5.68 billion bonus for an individual for the upcoming Lunar New Year. This bonus stands as the highest among businesses across the country, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
The ministry shared this information based on reports from 62 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, encompassing over 47,300 enterprises. On average, these enterprises are offering a Tet bonus of VND6.85 million per person this year.
Around 56.2% of the surveyed businesses indicated their intent to reward their employees during the 2024 New Year holiday, with an average amount of VND1.85 million per individual. This represents a notable 49% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, an FDI business in Vinh Phuc Province has decided to provide the highest bonus of VND376.3 million to an individual on this occasion.
Meanwhile, the average bonus from businesses planning to offer bonuses to their employees for the Tet holiday in 2024 will amount to VND6.85 million per person.
A survey conducted among 3,000 enterprises from various economic sectors in HCMC revealed that businesses in the electronics and information technology sectors are offering the most substantial Tet bonuses. They are followed by businesses in food processing, software development, and trading sectors.
