Work on key infrastructure projects as usual throughout New Year holiday

HCMC – HCMC is still conducting work on major infrastructure projects throughout the New Year holiday.

The Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of HCMC announced that, from January 1, 2024, the city will intensify efforts to step up the construction and installation phases of multiple infrastructure projects.

The projects include the first component of HCMC Beltway No. 3, An Phu interchange, National Highway 50 upgrade and expansion, the tunnel on Nguyen Van Linh Parkway, Nguyen Huu Tho intersection and the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa streets.

Significant progress has been made, including the selection of contractors and supervision consultants for six construction and installation packages related to the first component of HCMC Beltway No. 3, An Phu interchange, and National Highway 50 projects. Additionally, three supervision consultancy packages for other projects have been finalized.

The city is striving to initiate work on a section of Beltway No. 3 running through HCMC starting in February 2024.

In tandem, relevant units are accelerating work on 10 construction and installation packages for the An Phu interchange project this year, aiming to complete the entire project by April 30, 2025.

Seven construction and installation packages for the National Highway 50 upgrade project will commence this year, with a focus on completing a 4.3-km section from a frontage road to National Highway 50. These efforts are geared toward concluding the entire project before December 31, 2025.

Simultaneously, five construction and installation packages for the connecting road between Tran Quoc Hoan and Cong Hoa streets will be launched in the near future, with the overall project set for completion by December 31, 2024.

The relevant authorities are committed to completing the tunnel project at the Nguyen Van Linh and Nguyen Huu Tho streets by December this year. The HC2 branch of the tunnel is slated to be opened to traffic on June 30, with the inauguration of HC1 to follow.
