HCMC – Vietnamese passports have dropped five notches to 87th in the list of the world’s most powerful passports in 2024, according to the latest report released by the Henley Passport Index.
The number of countries and territories where Vietnamese citizens are allowed to enter without a visa or can obtain visas on arrival remains unchanged at 55.
Within the Southeast Asian region, Vietnamese passports maintain a higher position than those of Laos and Myanmar.
Japanese, Singaporean, Italian, German, French, and Spanish passports top the list. Their holders have visa-free access to 194 countries and territories globally, marking the highest number recorded since the Henley Passport Index began publishing rankings 19 years ago.
