HCMC – Standard Chartered Bank signed a deal with Dear Our Community (DOC) on February 21 to kick off the second season of the “Opening the Way – Leading the Path’’ series to impart sustainability knowledge to Vietnamese youth through practical examples from pioneering companies.

The signing event was held at the Standard Chartered Bank office in District 1, HCMC, and was attended by representatives from the bank, the British Consulate General in HCMC, and some universities in Vietnam.

Standard Chartered continues to be the sponsor of this project, which was first launched in March 2023.

Michele Wee, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, said, “Our Bank has committed to Net zero and is dedicated to making sustainable changes and facilitating transition with the government and private sector. We are excited to continue our support for the second season of this program to empower the future leaders and grassroots of Vietnam and help accelerate progress.”

Vo Ngoc Tuyen, Founder & CEO of DOC, said, “Standard Chartered Bank’s commitment to investing in the community and participation in the Series will provide motivation and necessary support for the young generation.”

British Consul General in HCMC Emily Hamblin commended the collaborative effort to establish a meaningful program for enhancing sustainability awareness among young people.

The “Opening the Way — Leading the Path” Series is the first youth-focused program emphasizing participation in social impact activities in Vietnam, initiated by DOC.

Unlike the first season, the second will feature settings in the workplace of pioneering practitioners, including Standard Chartered Bank, Sanofi, Heineken, De Heus, and Disability Research and Capacity Development Vietnam (DRD), to bring more realistic experiences to viewers.

The second season of the series “Opening the Way – Leading the Path” is set to air in March 2024.
