HCMC – Taking Bus Line No. 45, passengers have the opportunity to explore the rich history of HCMC by visiting several iconic landmarks, including the HCMC Museum of Fine Arts, Ton That Dam Market, and Phap Quang Pagoda.

Bus Line No. 45 runs from Mien Dong coach station in Binh Thanh District to the University of Economics HCMC’s Nguyen Van Linh Campus in Binh Chanh District. Buses operate from 4:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., departing every 10-15 minutes.

HCMC Museum of Fine Arts in District 1

Located at 97A Pho Duc Chinh Street in District 1, the HCMC Museum of Fine Arts is a must-visit destination for those interested in Vietnamese arts and culture. Established in 1987 and officially opened in late May 1989, the museum boasts an impressive collection of over 22,000 historic artifacts spanning various periods.

Comprising three three-story buildings, the museum showcases a blend of French architectural styles with Eastern influences. Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a diverse array of ancient and contemporary artifacts crafted from materials such as ceramics, stone and wood.

Ton That Dam Market in District 1

Ton That Dam Market, located along Ton That Dam Street in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, stretches from Ham Nghi Boulevard to Huynh Thuc Khang Street. It was a favorite shopping destination for elite Saigonese around 30 years ago, and now it remains bustling.

While a plan for relocating the market was proposed in the second quarter of 2022, it has yet to be implemented, allowing the market to continue its vibrant activity.

Tue Thanh Assembly Hall, also known as Thien Hau Pagoda, is located at 710 Nguyen Trai Street, Ward 11, District 5. This site is of great significance as it is one of the earliest places for worshiping of the Chinese community in HCMC, playing a central role in their spiritual life.

Constructed in a distinctively Chinese architectural style, the assembly hall boasts intricate round statues and ceramic reliefs adorning its walls, roof, and temple eaves. It offers visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the local inhabitants.

Phap Quang Pagoda in District 8

Located at 71 National Highway 50, Ward 5, District 8, Phap Quang Pagoda holds significant historical importance as it served as a revolutionary base during the wartime from 1963 to 1975, according to the District 8 People’s Committee.

Throughout the year, the pagoda hosts numerous spiritual events, including ceremonies in the first, fourth, seventh and tenth month in the lunar calendar. Beyond religious activities, Phap Quang Pagoda is actively involved in various charitable and social activities, demonstrating its commitment to serving the community.

In addition to the aforementioned destinations, passengers traveling on Bus Line No. 45 can also explore other iconic landmarks such as Bach Dang Wharf, Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Ben Thanh Market in District 1, Giac Ngo Pagoda in District 10, and delve into the vibrant atmosphere of the China Town area along Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street in District 5.
