HCMC – The southeastern province of Tay Ninh is scheduled to inaugurate the DHN high-tech livestock area on May 19 and announce seven key investment agricultural projects for the 2025-2030 period, with a total investment of VND2.5 trillion.
The local government held a press conference today, May 14, announcing the plan for the recognition ceremony of disease-free zone in Tay Ninh and a series of events, namely the grand opening ceremony of DHN Tay Ninh high-tech livestock farming zone, and the groundbreaking ceremony for seven key agricultural projects, as well as the plan for exporting poultry products to the Halal markets.
This series of events, scheduled to take place on May 19, are jointly organized by the local government of Tay Ninh, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dutch firm De Heus, and Hung Nhon Group.
Seven key projects within the DHN Tay Ninh high-tech agricultural complex will be kicked off at the event. The total projected investment in the first and second phases of the high-tech agricultural projects in DHN Tay Ninh is VND2,500 billion, making Tay Ninh the leading locality in Hung Nhon’s investment structure,” said Vu Manh Hung, chairman of Hung Nhon Group.
Regarding the recognition ceremony of disease-free zones, Nguyen Van Long, director of the Department of Animal Health, said that it is essential for the growth of agriculture in the province, particularly for livestock farming. “Vietnam has been imposing disease-free zones for a long time, and this has helped the country’s livestock export industry,” he said.
Gabor Fluit, CEO of De Heus Asia, said that effective management of disease-free zones could open up export opportunities for Vietnamese pork to Japan and South Korea, and even chicken breast to Europe, where it can fetch 2-3 times the price it does in Vietnam.
The ceremony will also see the signing of two memoranda of understanding between the Tay Ninh People’s Committee, Hung Nhon Group, De Heus, and other partners.
These agreements cover various initiatives, including the surveying and construction of a modern hatchery, establishment of high-tech livestock farms, supply of breeding and meat ducks, and a plan to develop and connect the poultry production and supply chain to international standards, including Halal, for export.
