Vietnamese firms seek F&B opportunities in Asia

HCMC – Vietnamese businesses are leveraging the THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2024, the region’s biggest food and beverage (F&B) trade show, to promote their presence in the market. The platform is expected to foster brand building, direct customer engagement, and valuable partnerships.

Pham Duy Cuong, sales manager of HTK Co., Ltd, said while the company initially used the platform to find new customers, their focus has shifted towards building brand awareness for Vietnam’s healthy food products.

Cuong valued direct customer interaction at trade shows, which cuts out intermediaries and lowers costs for consumers. He said product quality and research and development remain essential to business competitiveness.

Tommy Pham, CEO of Greeen Starch J.S.C, a company that makes eco-friendly food products from rice flour in the Mekong Delta, highlighted the impact of THAIFEX on market expansion and business-to-business (B2B) partnerships.

He said, “The event is particularly valuable for Vietnamese producers, connecting them with major buyers in Thailand, a global hub for wholesale trade.”

Tran Hanh Thu, founder and CEO of Tanisa Foods JSC, said after attending as a visitor for several years, her company has set up a booth for the past two years to increase exports of rice paper and rice noodles.

She stated participating in such events allows Vietnamese companies to enhance their products and strategies for global integration.

With over 150 participants at THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2024, Vietnamese firms aimed to stay ahead of market trends and to foster partnerships with global players, particularly those in the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Domestic companies saw the global trade show as a model for exhibitions in Vietnam to attract foreign investment in the country’s key sectors, especially agriculture.

The event, running until June 1, showcases F&B innovation with diverse products and solutions. Vietnamese companies, including Bentre Import Export Joint-Stock Corporation, Nawon Food and Beverage Company Limited, and Palmania JSC, are among the finalists in the event’s tasteInnovation Show.
