HCMC – A fire broke out in the Huong Huy Hoang Pawnshop located at the Chieu Lieu T-section linking Nguyen Thi Khap and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets in Binh Duong Province’s Di An City, killing three people this morning, July 8.
The victims were identified as Nguyen Xuan Hoan, 31; Do Thi Uyen, 30, and Do Viet Anh, 6.
The fire occurred at 9.00 a.m. and smoke began spreading quickly, frightening locals, while the pawnshop remained closed. Some residents sprayed water to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring houses.
After being notified of the incident, many firefighters, soldiers and fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to put out the blaze.
The fire was brought under control at 10.30 a.m., but the competent agencies found three people dead inside. Apart from this, all devices, many motorcycles and the furniture in the 300-square-meter shop were gutted.
An investigation has begun to determine the cause of the blaze, VietnamPlus news site reported.
