Must read

HCMC – The Politburo has approved the resignation of Le Viet Chu from the post of Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee.

Chu, a member of the Party Central Committee, the provincial Party chief, and head of the province’s National Assembly delegation, will leave the Party Central Committee and step down from the post of provincial Party chief in the 2015-2020 tenor. He will be assigned other tasks, the Politburo said in a statement.

In June, Chu had tendered his resignation to the Politburo, aimed at strengthening personnel for the province’s Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure, which will take place by the end of the year.

Earlier, the Politburo gave him a warning over his multiple violations in leadership, direction, management and use of land, finance, investment and personnel affairs.

His actions violated the regulations of the Communist Party and the provincial Party Committee and the State’s laws. The violations are serious and affect the prestige of the Provincial Party Committee and the local authorities, the Politburo noted.

The 57-year-old previously served as director of the Quang Ngai Transport Department, chairman of the provincial government, the People’s Council and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai.
