HCMC – HCMC will organize what is seen as the largest drone light show during the closing ceremony of the second HCMC River Festival.
Scheduled for 08:25 p.m. on June 9, the ceremony will feature 1,100 drones in the 15-minute show.
The show will be displayed above the Saigon River in the vicinity of Thu Duc City’s riverside park and can be watched from Bach Dang Wharf area, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, and riverfront areas.
In addition, from 07:00 p.m. to 08:30 p.m. on June 8 and 9, there will be water sports displays and artistic light performances in the Bach Dang Wharf area.
A procession of 15 boats, including floating restaurants, yachts and river buses, will parade from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on June 7, 8, and 9 at Bach Dang Wharf.
Festival-goers will be treated to the “On the Wharf, Onboard the Boat” activity at the Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe Canal in District 1, which recreates the ambiance of a traditional Vietnamese floating market. Meanwhile, the “On the Wharf, Onboard the Boat” activity at Binh Dong Wharf (District 8) will showcase the vibrant river life and cultural heritage of the Mekong Delta region.
Another highlight of the festival is the exhibition presenting colorful, illuminated sails against the backdrop of the Thu Ngu Flagpole monument.
