HCMC – Gemadept Corporation, which trades its GMD shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has plans to pay a 22% cash dividend, with the shareholders’ list to be finalized on July 16.
Under the plan, shareholders will get VND2,200 for each share held. With nearly 310.5 million outstanding shares, the firm will need around VND683.1 billion for the dividend payment. The dividend payment is scheduled for August 16.
At its annual general meeting held in late June 2024, Gemadept also announced a plan to sell around 103.5 million shares to existing shareholders at an expected price of VND29,000 per share to mobilize funds worth around VND3 trillion. Shareholders can buy 333 new shares for every 1,000 shares held.
The share issue is slated in 2024, pending approval from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. If it is successful, Gemadept will raise its charter capital from VND3.1 trillion to VND4.1 trillion.
Closing the trading session today, July 3, GMD rose by 0.86% day-on-day to VND82,200 per share, with nearly 1.2 million shares changing hands.
The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange added 7.06 points, or 0.56%, day-on-day at 1,276.85 points, with 242 winners and 161 losers.
Around 589.5 million shares worth VND15.6 trillion were traded on the southern bourse, up by 11% in volume and value against yesterday’s session. Block deal transactions contributed VND2.3 trillion to the overall value.
The VN30 basket saw six stocks falling into negative territory; four closed unchanged against yesterday; and the remaining 20 advanced. As a result, its index closed up by 9.44 points, or 0.73%, against the day earlier at 1,305.50 points.
VRE was the most actively traded stock today, with 34 million shares changing hands, followed by VPB, POW and HPG.
On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index inched up by 0.63 point, or 0.26%, to 241.43 points, with 86 advancers and 71 decliners. The total trading volume reached 52.8 million shares valued at VND1.1 trillion.
