Former Binh Thuan vice chairman detained

HCMC – Police have detained Nguyen Ngoc, former standing vice chairman of Binh Thuan Province, on alleged charges of violating regulations on the management and use of State assets, resulting in losses and wastefulness related to a coastal tourism and urban area project.

The investigative police agency under the Ministry of Public Security has also arrested four other individuals on the same charges.

These arrests are part of an expanded investigation into the case involving mismanagement and wastefulness of State assets at the Phan Thiet coastal tourism and urban area development project.

Previously, legal proceedings were initiated against 12 suspects by the Ministry of Public Security, including Le Tien Phuong, former chairman of Binh Thuan Province.

Nguyen Ngoc, during his tenure as vice chairman, was responsible for pricing and the land valuation appraisal council of the province.
