HCMC – HCMC is planning to invest nearly VND870 billion to widen a 1.8 km section of Do Xuan Hop road to 30 meters with six lanes.
This is one of several projects proposed by the HCMC People’s Committee at the 17th session of the People’s Council of the city, which began on July 15.
In 2016, the HCMC People’s Council approved a budget of VND528 billion for this road section. However, due to delays in land clearance, only VND50 billion worth of construction work has been completed.
To date, the cost of land compensation has increased, with over 56,000 square meters of land to be reclaimed, and total compensation now exceeding VND508 billion.
Managed by the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of HCMC, the project is expected to be finished next year.
Do Xuan Hop road connects Hanoi Highway and the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway, and leads to Nguyen Duy Trinh road and Cat Lai port. However, the 1.83 km section from Nam Ly Bridge to Nguyen Duy Trinh road is narrow, with only two lanes, causing frequent congestion.
