HCMC – The Vietnamese dong appreciated against the U.S. dollar today, July 26, according to local media reports.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) set the central reference forex rate at VND24,249 per dollar, down by VND16 from the previous day. With a trading band of 5% on either side of the central reference forex rate, the ceiling exchange rate is VND25,461 to the dollar and the floor rate is VND23,037.
At around 8 a.m., Vietcombank and BIDV adjusted the dollar price down by VND57 for buying and VND17 for selling compared to the previous day. The two banks now buy the dollar at VND25,121 and sell it at VND25,461.
Conversely, the Chinese yuan appreciated against the Vietnamese dong. Vietcombank listed the yuan buying and selling prices at VND3,461 and VND3,573 per yuan, respectively, up by about VND7 both sides.
BIDV listed the yuan at VND3,465 for buying and VND3,593 for selling, up by VND7 on the buying side and VND13 on the selling side against the previous session.
