Vietnamese woman conquers UTMB

A female Vietnamese runner has reached the finish line on the border of France, Switzerland and Italy after completing the 176km ultra trail. Le Phuong Vy, a 31-year-old Vietnamese accountant living in Hanoi, has chosen running as a way to stay fit after hours working at the office. She began running since 2015, starting by walking and then running 2km, 5km and 10km, and many rounds around the West Lake in Hanoi in the early morning and in the evening. She gradually raised her running distances to 21km, 42km, and even to ultra trail distances. After nine years of balancing family life and running, Vy considers her running time as a way to live a happy life without trying to obtain any result. She has been planning her own timetable for running, as no one understands her strength better than she does. “I love running and I know what to do to be a happy office worker like many others,” she says.
