HCMC’s tourism revenue in Jan-Oct grows almost 12%

HCMC – HCMC welcomed around 35.5 million domestic and international visitors from January through October 2024, generating VND156.6 trillion in revenue, according to the HCMC Department of Tourism.

This revenue marks an 11.9% rise against the same period last year and fulfills 82.4% of the city’s annual target. In this period, domestic visitors totaled over 30.9 million, a 1.3% year-on-year rise and achieving 81.4% of the annual goal.

Meanwhile, international arrivals reached about 4.6 million, up by 12.9% from last year, meeting 77.7% of the target.

In October alone, the city attracted around 3.6 million domestic tourists, a 1.2% year-on-year uptick, alongside 646,445 international visitors, a notable 16.6% rise.

Tourism revenue for October is projected at VND16.3 trillion, up by 11.4% versus October 2023.

The HCMC Department of Tourism is currently developing incentive programs to draw international groups to the city for MICE events—meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions—further bolstering HCMC’s tourism appeal.
