HCMC – Gold ring prices in Vietnam surged to VND91 million per tael today, February 6, driven by strong demand ahead of God of Wealth Day, according to local media reports.
At 10 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed plain gold rings at VND88 million per tael (buying) and VND90.5 million per tael (selling).
While the buying price dropped by VND100,000, the selling price rose by VND400,000 compared to the previous day. The spread between buying and selling prices widened to VND2.5 million per tael.
DOJI Group quoted prices at VND88-90 million, while Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ) set rates at VND88.2-90.7 million per tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau’s prices reached VND88.4-90.95 million per tael.
Gold bars also inched up, with SJC listing them at VND88 million (buying) and VND91 million (selling) per tael. Compared to yesterday, the selling price picked up by VND400,000, while the buying price fell by VND100,000. The price gap expanded from VND2.5 million to VND3 million per tael.
On the global market, gold prices hit a record high of US$2,853 per ounce. As of 10 a.m., prices stood at around US$2,850 per ounce, equivalent to VND87 million per tael based on Vietcombank’s exchange rate.
