HCMC – Law enforcement agencies in Dong Nai Province are investigating irregularities involving compensation and resettlement payments for the Long Thanh International Airport project, citing significant financial losses to the state budget.
Dong Nai police have issued a public notice urging officials and residents to provide information regarding wrongful compensation practices. The move comes after the arrest of Le Van Tiep, chairman of the People’s Committee of Long Thanh District, and several other officials accused of misconduct in the compensation process.
Authorities warned individuals who improperly received funds to come forward and return the money, stating that voluntary compliance may lead to leniency. Those who fail to cooperate could face asset confiscation and criminal charges, including fraud and misappropriation of state funds.
