Nestled along the Vietnam-China border, Ban Gioc Waterfall in Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province, is renowned as one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking natural wonders. It is also the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world. Cascading from a height of over 60 meters, the falls create a mesmerizing spectacle with a steepest drop of 30 meters.

For many travelers, the ideal time to visit Ban Gioc is from September to November, when the waterfall is at its most powerful, forming striking natural patterns against the lush, mountainous backdrop. However, spring also offers a unique charm, with cool, refreshing weather enhancing the experience. Visitors arriving around 11 a.m. can witness the waterfall in its full glory when the hydroelectric power plant releases water, intensifying the cascade’s flow.

As a key attraction in Cao Bang, Ban Gioc Waterfall holds immense cultural and natural significance. Located within the UNESCO-recognized Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, the site promises a rewarding experience for both domestic and international tourists, offering a glimpse into Vietnam’s rich natural heritage.
