Local gold prices jump after weekend dip

HCMC – Domestic gold prices saw a sharp rebound on Monday morning, April 21, with gold bars rising by VND3-4 million per tael, reversing the decline recorded over the weekend.

At around 10 a.m., major jewelry firms like Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI, and Bao Tin Minh Chau raised their prices for gold bars by VND4 million to VND116 million per tael for buying and VND118 million per tael for selling.

Phu Quy Jewelry listed gold bar prices at VND115 million for buying and VND117.5 million for selling, up VND3.5 million on both sides, with a buy-sell gap of VND2.5 million per tael.

Similarly, ring gold prices rose by VND1.5-4 million per tael.

SJC quoted buying prices for gold rings at VND112 million per tael and selling prices at VND115 million, up VND2.5 million and VND1.5 million against yesterday’s session, respectively.

Phu Quy Jewelry adjusted its plain gold ring prices to around VND113–116.5 million per tael, with increases of VND2.5 million for buying and VND3 million for selling.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau, ring gold prices were capped at VND114.5–118 million per tael, up VND3.7 million on the buying side and VND4 million on the selling side.

According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), global gold prices continued to climb, reaching a new record high of US$3,370 per ounce today.
