Loc An Fishing Port serves as a docking point for boats and a busy seafood trading hub connecting neighboring districts. Over the past two decades, it has become a place intertwined with the memories and livelihoods of generations of fishermen, and recently, an emerging destination that draws travelers from across the country seeking a glimpse of authentic coastal life.

Loc An Fishing Port is located approximately 40 kilometers from the center of Vung Tau City. Established in 1999 under the supervision of the Vung Tau Port Authority, the port aims to support the growth of the fishing industry in Ba Ria–Vung Tau Province. There, fishermen gather to refuel, repair their equipment, and trade their fresh catches, contributing to the vibrant seafood markets that have become synonymous with the port.

Over the past two decades, Loc An has not only supported local livelihoods but has also drawn increasing attention from visitors across Vietnam. At dawn, the harbor bursts into life. The chatter of merchants, the hum of boat engines, and the laughter of workers create a bustling yet charming morning scene. The port is framed by boats docked tightly together and water that mirrors the golden sunrise—an image of rustic beauty rarely found in more commercialized beach destinations.

Beyond its economic importance, Loc An attracts visitors with its unspoiled charm. Unlike the crowded beaches of Vung Tau or Mui Ne, Loc An features a tranquil stretch of white sand, clear blue water, and rows of casuarina trees swaying in the sea breeze. The atmosphere remains refreshingly calm, shaped by the genuine, friendly spirit of its coastal inhabitants.

Loc An is most captivating during early summer and the final months of the year. In summer, the roads leading to the port are lined with blooming royal poinciana, and the cool weather makes the landscape even more stunning. At the end of the year, the area is blanketed with the lovely pink color of cherry blossoms.

While often a brief stop for travelers exploring Vietnam’s southern coastline, Loc An makes a lasting impression. For those seeking serenity, cultural authenticity, and the charm of a working fishing village, this quaint port is worth a visit. As tourism gradually makes its way here, Loc An still retains its peaceful spirit—a place where tradition thrives and life flows at its own leisurely pace.
