HCMC – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 37 new Covid-19 cases, with 26 being imported and 11 locally-transmitted, in HCMC and Quang Nam Province, taking the country’s tally to 546 tonight, July 31.
Three women confirmed positive in HCMC, aged from 55 to 61, had earlier received treatment or taken care of family members at Danang-based hospitals.
The 510th patient, who lives in District 10, took care of her parents at Danang Oncology Hospital, Hoan My Danang Hospital and Danang Hospital from July 5 to 20. On July 25, she flew back to HCMC and self-quarantined at home.
The woman visited the District 10 Hospital for checkup as she had sore throat on July 27. She tested positive for the virus on July 30.
Another woman, tagged as the 517th case, is a resident of Quang Ngai Province. She was treated at Danang Hospital from June 29 to July 22.
The patient and her family members took a rented car to Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC for examination on July 23. She visited her daughter’s house in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc District on the same day.
She made health declarations and were sent to a concentrated quarantine center in the district on July 28. Her test result then came back positive for Covid-19 on July 30.
The remaining one in HCMC, who lives in Tan Phu District’s Phu Tho Hoa Ward, looked after the 436th patient at Danang Hospital from July 19 to 23. The woman and her husband flew back to HCMC on July 24, VnExpress news site reported.
They started to self quarantine on July 26 and made health declarations two days later. The woman’s positive test result also came out on July 30.
Eight other locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases are in Quang Nam Province, aged from 15 to 90. They include five men and three women, and most of them, are linked to Danang Hospital.
Among the imported cases of Covid-19, the patients tagged from 527th to 546th flew back to Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport from Equatorial Guinea on July 29.
The remainder from the 511th to the 516th are crew members of a vessel transporting goods. Before returning to Vietnam through Vung Tau Port on July 28, they stayed in Qatar from July 2 to 5 and in India between July 14 and 16.
