E-commerce tax revenue totals VND74.4 trillion in Jan-May

HCMC – Vietnam’s tax revenue from e-commerce surged by 55% year-on-year to VND74.4 trillion in the first five months of this year, the Ministry of Finance reported.

A total of 158 foreign service providers have registered, declared and paid taxes through the electronic portal, with tax payments reaching VND5.7 trillion, up by 41% compared to the same period in 2024.

About 100,000 business households and individuals have used the electronic portal to register, declare and pay nearly VND1.1 trillion in taxes.

Nearly 93,000 organizations and individuals engaged in e-commerce paid VND67.6 trillion in taxes.

Regarding tax enforcement in e-commerce activities, tax authorities reviewed 164,661 taxpayers involved in e-commerce, collecting over VND416 billion in back taxes from businesses and more than VND331 billion from 25,201 individuals and business households.
