VNDIRECT to pay 5% cash dividend

HCMC — VNDIRECT Securities Corporation (HOSE: VND) has announced that it will on June 25 finalize the list of shareholders eligible for its 2024 cash dividend payment at 5%, equivalent to VND500 per share.

With more than 1.52 billion outstanding shares, the payment will total over VND760 billion. The dividend plan was approved at the company’s annual general meeting, where shareholders also endorsed an additional 5% stock dividend. The stock distribution will follow the cash payout.

VNDirect earlier this year increased its charter capital to VND15.2 trillion via a public offering to existing shareholders.

For 2025, the firm targets revenue of VND4.41 trillion and pre-tax profit of VND2.3 trillion, up 8% and 10% year-on-year, respectively. Its after-tax profit goal is VND1.84 trillion.

In the first quarter, VNDIRECT posted revenue of VND1.26 trillion, down 9.2% from a year earlier. Its after-tax profit plunged 38% to VND382.5 billion, meeting 28.5% of its full-year revenue target and 20.8% of its profit goal.

Closing the trading session today, June 18, VND edged down 1.49% to VND16,500, with nearly 15.8 million shares changing hands.

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index moved sideways on Wednesday, despite strong gains in several large-cap stocks.

The VN-Index closed at 1,346.83, down 0.86 point, or 0.06%, over the previous session. The Hochiminh Stock Exchange recorded 108 winners and 184 losers. Trading volume totaled over 850 million shares worth VND20.28 trillion. Block deals contributed 54.7 million shares worth VND1.05 trillion.

VHM rose 2.6% to VND71,400 per share, its session high, on a volume of 3.86 million shares. The stock contributed nearly two points to the main index.

Other bluechips in the VN30 basket, which groups the 30 largest-cap stocks, posted modest gains. GAS advanced 2.3%, TCB added 1.2%, and HPG rose 1.1%.

Bank and securities stocks were mixed. SHB fell 0.4% but took the lead by liquidity with 49.66 million shares traded. MBB gained 0.2% with 26.2 million shares, while VPB dropped 1.6% on 23.6 million shares.

In the brokerage sector, VIX rose 0.8%, while SSI declined 1%. Both saw trading volumes at around 22 million shares.

Real estate stocks bucked the trend. NVL rose 1% with 38.6 million shares traded, second only to SHB in volume. VCG, DXG, and DIG saw slight gains, each with over 10 million shares traded.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also moved sideways, slipping 0.04 point, or 0.02%, to 228.2 points. There were 66 advancers and 75 decliners on the northern bourse. Total volume reached 72.9 million shares valued at VND1.36 trillion.
