HCMC – A record 24,422 new businesses were registered last month, marking the highest monthly total ever recorded, according to the Ministry of Finance.
This figure is 3.7 times higher than the average for the 2011-2015 period, 2.3 times the 2016-2020 average, and twice as high as the average from 2021 to 2024.
In the first half of 2025, a total of 91,186 new businesses were registered nationwide, reflecting a strong surge in business activity.
In June alone, 14,390 businesses were relaunched, up 91.05% year-on-year, five times the average during the 2016-2020 period and three times that of 2021-2024.
A total of 61,521 businesses returned to the market in the first half of the year, a 57.22% increase compared to the same period last year.
For the first time, the total number of new and returning businesses in the first half of the year exceeded the number of business exits by 1.2 times.
Notably, the number of newly registered household businesses in June surged by 118.4% year-on-year and rose 60.35% compared to May, 2.4 times higher than the monthly average since July 2023.
