Bai Bang offers an off-the-beaten-path experience for nature lovers. This secluded destination combines forest trails, a quiet beach, freshwater streams, and natural pools, making it an ideal spot for trekking and camping.
Bai Bang is a pristine beach located in the northwest part of Con Dao Island. It is named after the many tall bàng trees that grow along the coast, scientifically known as Terminalia catappa. Visitors must purchase an entrance ticket priced at VND50,000 per person to access the site since the beach is nestled in Con Dao National Park.

The trekking route to Bai Bang starts at the national park entrance and spans about 2.5 kilometers. The trail leads through dense primary forest, passing small streams and a seasonal waterfall along the way.
Along the trail, dense tree canopies provide shade, while the sound of flowing water adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Midway through the trek, hikers can stop at a small natural pool formed by a stream to rest and cool down. The route ends at another freshwater pool near the beach, known for its crystal-clear water and peaceful setting. While the beach is small and not ideal for swimming due to the rugged terrain, it is well-suited for photography, picnics, and overnight camping.

According to resident Dien Phi, the best time to explore Bai Bang is during the rainy season, from June to the end of the year, when the stream and waterfall reach peak flow. However, he recommends choosing sunny days within the rainy season for safer travel, as the trail can become slippery.
The highlight of Bai Bang is its freshwater stream, which cascades from a cliff and forms a natural pool below. The water flow intensifies in August and September, offering dramatic views.

Due to its secluded location, Bai Bang remains largely untouched and rarely visited. There are no services or vendors in the area. Visitors must bring their own food, water, and necessary supplies. Environmental regulations are strictly enforced; littering and any activities that could harm the local ecosystem are prohibited.
Bai Bang is suitable for travelers seeking solitude and a deeper connection with nature. The combination of forest trails, natural streams, and a serene beach makes it a unique destination within Con Dao’s diverse landscape.
