Located around 12 kilometers of downtown Dalat in Lac Duong District, Dankia – Suoi Vang Lake has become a popular destination for travelers seeking nature, peace, and outdoor experiences away from the city.
Surrounded by pine-covered hills and fresh mountain air, Dankia Lake — also known as Suoi Vang — offers a calm setting for camping, cloud hunting, and water-based activities. With a surface area of 245 hectares and a storage capacity of over 20 million cubic meters, the freshwater lake plays a vital role in supplying water to the city of Dalat.

The journey to Suoi Vang requires navigating narrow paths, sometimes crossing shallow streams. Visitors are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear, especially during the rainy season.
Due to its elevation of about 1,500 meters above sea level, the lake area is cool all year round, with colder temperatures at night. This climate makes it ideal for overnight camping and early-morning excursions to catch the sunrise or hunt for clouds.
One of the lake’s most photographed landmarks is the “lonely pine tree,” or cay thong co don in Vietnamese, which stands isolated by the water’s edge. The tree has become a recognizable symbol of the area, contrasting with the surrounding pine forests and drawing visitors for photo opportunities.

Dankia – Suoi Vang is also a favored site for group activities such as picnics, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and team-building events. Its open space and scenic surroundings attract both families and young travelers.
The natural appeal has made it a year-round destination for both locals and tourists. A visit to Dankia – Suoi Vang Lake allows travelers to step away from the crowded city center and experience the highland landscape that defines Dalat’s charm. Whether for a short morning outing or an overnight stay, the area continues to grow in popularity as one of Lam Dong Province’s top nature spots.
