HCMC – HCMC has revised the master plan for nearly 550 hectares in the Binh Quoi-Thanh Da urban area, targeting its transformation into an eco-tourism area and a new growth pole at the city’s northeastern gateway.
According to the HCMC web portal, the city government has adjusted the 1:2000-scale zoning plan for the new Binh Quoi-Thanh Da urban area. The nearly 550-hectare site comprises 423.6 hectares of land and 125.8 hectares of water surface.
The new plan envisions developing a modern eco-tourism city while preserving the area’s signature riverside landscape. It will serve as an urban center integrated with a wetland park, prioritizing lower building density and expanding green spaces and open areas.
Tourism, hotel, commercial, and cultural facilities will be interspersed with residential, administrative, and wetland areas.
Technical and social infrastructure will be developed in a synchronized manner, creating architectural highlights along the river. The area is planned to accommodate a population of around 54,000.
Originally planned in 1992, the project has remained largely stagnant for nearly 30 years. The latest adjustment is expected to give new impetus to development at HCMC’s northeastern gateway, aiming for sustainability and harmony with nature.
