HCMC – The square in front of Ben Thanh Market was opened to the public on February 5 after construction fences were removed, following more than two weeks of renovation and upgrade.
The main renovation items at Ben Thanh Market in Ben Thanh Ward, HCMC, have been largely completed. The newly renovated square has begun receiving residents and visitors for sightseeing and photography
As part of the project, the market’s red-tiled roof was reinstalled, while the square in front of the market was refurbished and landscaped
The space has been decorated with Tet-themed installations, including ornamental apricot and peach trees, bamboo screens, firecracker motifs, flower boats, and bamboo-and-rattan patterns, in preparation for the Lunar New Year 2026
The renovated square is now accessible to the public and has become a focal public space ahead of the Tet holiday
Nguyen Hong Dao, a resident of HCMC, said the renovation is suitable for the season, providing a backdrop for visitors seeking spaces for photos and selfies
