HCMC – Hanoi City has been included in a list of the world’s 50 most beautiful cities released by U.S.-based travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The magazine’s ranking features destinations offering varied experiences, from historic districts and natural landscapes to distinct urban lifestyles.
Condé Nast Traveler noted that Hanoi’s appeal does not center on skyscrapers or modern boulevards. Instead, it highlighted the city’s cultural layers, including inner-city lakes, tiled-roof houses in the Old Quarter, French-style iron balconies, and tree-lined streets.
The mix of Eastern and Western architecture, the contrast between old and modern rhythms of life, and a strong street food culture were also cited as defining features.
Hanoi has recently received multiple international tourism awards. In the Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations 2026 by TripAdvisor, the city ranked fourth among the world’s top 25 destinations, seventh in cultural and solo travel categories, and eleventh among food destinations.
At the World Travel Awards 2025, Hanoi was named Asia’s Leading City Destination and Asia’s Leading City Break Destination.
The city also won a Sustainable Tourism award at the TPO Best Awards 2025 during the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities.
Other recognitions include a top-seven ranking among Asia’s best autumn destinations by Time Out, a listing at the Telegraph Travel Awards 2025, and inclusion among 15 value-for-money dream destinations by Travel + Leisure.
According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, international arrivals in February 2026 reached an estimated 680,800, up 16.2% from a year earlier. Domestic visitors totaled about 2.5 million, rising 32.3%.
Tourism revenue for the month was estimated at VND12.39 trillion, an increase of 24.8% year-on-year.
