HCMC — The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed advancing the nationwide rollout of E10 bio-gasoline to April 30, more than a month ahead of the previously approved roadmap.
Under a newly drafted circular, all unleaded gasoline distributed nationwide must be blended with 10% ethanol to produce E10 fuel, supporting Vietnam’s energy transition goals and enhancing national energy security. Previously, Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT stipulated that E10 fuel would be rolled out nationwide from June 1.
E5 RON92 gasoline, containing 5% ethanol, has been on the market since 2018 and E10 RON95 was launched on a pilot basis in August 2025.
With an average monthly consumption of approximately one million cubic meters upon the commercial rollout of E10, the demand for ethanol is estimated to range between 92,000 and 110,000 cubic meters.
