HCMC – Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (HOSE: SSB) approved a 20.5% dividend payment and a plan to raise its charter capital to nearly VND34.7 trillion at its 2026 annual general meeting.
Shareholders at the meeting on April 22 passed several key resolutions, including the capital increase plan.
Under the approved plan, the lender will issue 583.8 million shares to pay the dividend at a ratio of 20.5% and 40 million shares under an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) for management staff.
The approved capital increase aims to strengthen financial capacity, support compliance with Basel III standards, and fund credit, technology, and operational activities in 2026.
The bank reported pre-tax profit of almost VND6.9 trillion in 2025, up 13.73% from 2024. Total assets reached VND396.44 trillion, rising 21.72% and exceeding the plan by 11%.
Closing the trading session today, April 24, SSB edged down 0.3% to VND16,650, with a trading volume of nearly 1.9 million shares.
The VN-Index lost 17.07 points, or 0.91%, to end at 1,853.29 on the southern exchange. The index still advanced 36.12 points, or 1.98%, over the week, marking its fifth straight weekly gain.
Market breadth was negative, with 135 stocks advancing and 188 declining. Trading volume reached more than 673.8 million shares, with a total value of VND19.35 trillion, down 35% in volume and 34% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for over 105 million shares worth VND2 trillion.
Large-cap stocks weighed on the index. VHM dropped 5.2% to VND141,200, VCB fell 3.5% to VND60,600, and VIC declined 1.1% to VND212,100. These three stocks together took away more than 14 points from the VN-Index.
Losses spread across the VN30 basket. BID, VPL, and SAB fell by more than 2%. MBB, SSI, VNM, MSN, CTG, MWG, and FPT also closed below their reference levels.
Mid- and small-cap stocks showed little change from the morning session. TDH, VNE, and C32 stayed at their ceiling prices. Other stocks rose between nearly 3% and over 5%, with relatively strong liquidity.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index shed 1.28 points, or 0.51%, to 251.95. The exchange recorded 72 winners and 80 losers. Trading volume reached more than 74.6 million shares with a value of VND1.28 trillion.
