HCMC – Hoa Phat Group (HOSE: HPG) will pay a 5% cash dividend for 2025, totaling VND3.84 trillion.
Shareholders will get VND500 for every share held. The company set May 12 as the record date for eligible shareholders, with May 11 as the ex-dividend date. Payment is scheduled for June 3.
The payout will be funded by undistributed after-tax profits, based on its audited 2025 financial statements.
Separately, the company also plans to issue shares as a dividend. It will distribute more than 767.5 million new shares at a ratio of 10%, meaning shareholders will receive 10 new shares for every 100 shares held. Fractional shares will be canceled.
The issuance, valued at nearly VND7.68 trillion at par value, will also be funded by retained earnings. The plan is expected to be carried out from April, subject to confirmation from the State Securities Commission that all required documents have been received.
If completed, the company’s charter capital will increase from about VND76.75 trillion to over VND84.43 trillion.
In the first quarter of 2026, Hoa Phat reported revenue of nearly VND53.3 trillion, up 40.5% year-on-year, and after-tax profit of about VND9.06 trillion, rocketing 170.3%.
For 2026, the company targets revenue of VND210 trillion and after-tax profit of VND22 trillion, up 32.6% and 41.8% respectively from 2025. After the first quarter, it has achieved 25.4% of its revenue target and 41.2% of its profit goal.
The VN-Index rose 16.35 points, or 0.87%, to close at 1,891.2 points, with 202 stocks advancing and 110 declining.
Total trading volume reached 875.2 million shares worth VND23.8 trillion, up 13% in volume and 6.6% in value from the previous session. Block deals accounted for 88 million shares valued at VND2.08 trillion.
Large-cap stocks mostly advanced. In the VN30 basket, only FPT, PLX, and VHM posted slight losses, while the rest closed higher. DGC climbed 5.28%. SSI increased 4.4%, followed by VRE and STB with respective gains of 3.98% and 3.45%. Several others, including LPB, MSN, VPL, and ACB, rose more than 2%.
Securities stocks all ended higher. VIX and HCM hit their ceiling prices, with trading volumes of 56.15 million and 26.25 million shares. ORS and VND gained over 4%, while VCI and CTS rose more than 3%.
Banking stocks also moved up, with most lenders closing in positive territory. TPB and VPB ended flat, while STB recorded the strongest gain in the group.
Gelex-related stocks drew attention, with GEE, GEX, and VIX reaching ceiling prices. Vingroup-related stocks showed limited movement.
NVL remained the most actively traded stock, with 75.34 million shares changing hands. The stock fell 3.65% to VND17,150 due to continued selling pressure.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 1.04 points, or 0.42%, to 248.46 points. The exchange saw 95.2 million shares worth VND416.3 billion traded, with 75 gainers and 70 decliners.
