HCMC – Sun PhuQuoc Airways will launch a direct route linking HCMC and Van Don on June 15 in a move expected to strengthen tourism and economic connectivity between southern Vietnam and the northeastern province of Quang Ninh.

The airline said it has started ticket sales for the route, which will operate four flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Flights will depart HCMC at 3:30 p.m. and arrive in Van Don at 5:30 p.m., while return flights will leave Van Don at 6:10 p.m. and land in HCMC at 8:30 p.m.

The new service is expected to shorten travel times and provide passengers with a direct alternative to transit flights through other airports.

The route will also improve access to tourism destinations and entertainment complexes such as Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh, Sun World Halong and Sun Elite City.

Under Vietnam’s aviation development plan through 2050, Van Don International Airport is expected to expand capacity to 20 million passengers annually, reinforcing its role as a strategic gateway for northeastern Vietnam.
