HCMC – HCMC is aiming for a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth rate of 6-6.5% next year, said the municipal Party chief Nguyen Van Nen.
Nguyen Van Nen, secretary of the HCMC Party Committee, announced the city’s GRDP target for next year at the closing session of the Municipal Party Committee’s 10th conference held yesterday, December 2.
Nen said the conference approved the city’s 2022 theme on safely and flexibly adapting to and effectively controlling Covid-19, and enhancing the quality of the urban government and investment environment.
The entire political system of the city will make all-out efforts to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 6-6.5% for 2022. This is a well-founded target as the city’s spirit of unity and desire for economic recovery and development remain strong, he noted.
Besides, the city set out other important goals, including maintaining the percentage of the service sector in GRDP at over 60%, the total investment accounting for around 35% and creating jobs for 140,000 workers.
Among the tasks and solutions set for 2022, the city would prioritize Covid infection prevention and control, the safe and flexible adaptation to Covid and efforts to gradually restore and develop socioeconomic activities.
As for the city’s socioeconomic development and recovery program for the 2022-2025 period and its plan on promoting socioeconomic growth from 2021 to 2025, the municipal Party secretary stressed that the city would focus on developing and completing policies to maximize all resources to restructure the city’s economy, innovating growth models, developing a digital economy and improving productivity, among others.
