HCMC – Several domestic air routes in Vietnam are still available for less than VND700,000 one way despite the peak summer travel season, according to booking platform Agoda.

Data compiled by Agoda from flight bookings made between March and May for travel during June-August 2026 showed that the HCMC-Tuy Hoa route had the lowest recorded fare at around VND627,000, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

The route has attracted interest from travelers as it provides access to Vietnam’s south-central coastal region, known for its beaches, natural landscapes and comparatively affordable travel costs.

Other routes priced below VND700,000 included Danang-Hanoi, HCMC-Danang, Tam Ky-HCMC and HCMC-Quy Nhon.

The low fares come as demand for air travel typically rises during the summer holiday season, when Vietnamese families and students travel more frequently.

Agoda said the availability of lower-priced tickets could encourage more domestic tourism by making short getaways and holiday trips more accessible.

On international routes, flights from HCMC to Kuala Lumpur offered the lowest fares, starting at around VND888,000 one way.

Other regional routes, including HCMC-Johor Bahru, HCMC-Singapore, Danang-Kuala Lumpur and HCMC-Bangkok, were available from roughly VND1.2-1.3 million.

“Southeast Asian destinations continue to attract Vietnamese travelers thanks to short flight times, reasonable costs and a wide range of experiences, from food and shopping to leisure travel,” Vu Ngoc Lam, country director of Agoda Vietnam, said.

The findings were based on actual flight bookings across eight Asian markets: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and India.

Agoda said the quoted fares included taxes and fees and represented the lowest prices recorded during the survey period. Ticket prices may vary depending on booking dates and seat availability.
