HCMC – After two years of suspension due to Covid-19, two flights operated by Vietnam Airlines from Europe landed at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi today, January 26.

Specifically, the VN30 flight from Germany’s Frankfurt carrying 190 passengers and the VN18 flight on the London-Paris-Hanoi route with 300 passengers on board landed in Hanoi at 9:30 a.m. and 9:55 a.m. today, respectively, the local media reported.

To date, Vietnam Airlines has resumed regular flights to 12 countries and territories, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.

With the resumption of regular flights from Europe, Vietnamese citizens overseas and European tourists can now fly to Vietnam.

From February 8, Vietnam Airlines will operate flights to the United Kingdom, France and Germany on two routes. On the first route, VNA aircraft will depart on Tuesdays from Hanoi, fly to London and Frankfurt and return to Hanoi.

Flights on the second route will fly from Hanoi to Paris and Frankfurt before returning to Hanoi.

The reopening of regular international flights has paved the way for recovery after the pandemic, boosting economic development, investment, tourism and production and business activities.

Bamboo Airways on January 24 also announced its nonstop flights between Hanoi and Frankfurt from February 25 with a frequency of two return flights per week.

The airline will also operate regular flights between Hanoi and London from March 22 and between HCMC and Melbourne, Australia, from February 19.

Since January this year, Bamboo Airways has operated regular flights to Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand and has prepared to launch flights to Laos, Cambodia and the United States. It is expected to expand its network to 40 destinations this year.

Meanwhile, Vietjet has resumed commercial international flights from Hanoi/HCMC to Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore with one return flight on each route per week. In the upcoming periods, the air carrier will reopen all international air routes and launch air services to India and Russia.
