HCMC – Bamboo Airways today, January 24, announced that it would launch nonstop flights between Vietnam’s Hanoi City and Germany’s Frankfurt City on February 25, paving the way for the Vietnamese airline to access other European destinations.

The airline will initially have two weekly services, the local media reported.

It started selling tickets for these flights today.

Bamboo Airways has been accelerating its plan to run regular flights between HCMC and Frankfurt and weigh another direct air link with Munich or Berlin.

Bamboo Airways vice chairman and general director Dang Tat Thang said the air route to Frankfurt allowed Bamboo Airways to expand its network to economic hubs in Germany, connect with European markets, such as the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and France, and reach other destinations in Asia.

To serve the German market, the air carrier has also introduced its German market general sales agent—AVIAREPS, which is a leading aviation service provider in Europe.

Besides the air route to Germany, Bamboo Airways will also operate regular flights between Hanoi and the United Kingdom’s London from March 22 and between HCMC and Australia’s Melbourne from February 19.

Since January this year, the airline has operated regular flights to Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand and has made preparations to launch flights to Laos, Cambodia and the United States. It is expected to expand its network to 40 air routes this year.
