HCMC – The Ministry of Health has proposed allowing asymptomatic Covid patients and direct contacts of Covid cases to work during their quarantine period to avoid the wastefulness of manpower.

Under the ministry’s proposal to the national anti-Covid steering committee, Covid-infected patients with no symptoms are allowed to work in a voluntary manner during their seven-day quarantine.

Companies, units and localities might consider giving them online tasks to avoid direct contacts with other people and allowing them to take care of other Covid patients in their families, or at lodging facilities or Covid treatment facilities.

These asymptomatic Covid patients who are assigned to work at Covid treatment facilities must not come into direct contact with vulnerable patients.

Besides, they are required to go to workplace from their quarantine facility by their private vehicles and must avoid direct contact with other people on their way.

As for unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated people who have direct contact with Covid cases, they are allowed to work either online or offline, according to the proposal.

Companies must arrange a separate working area for these people if they work offline. They must strictly follow Covid safety protocols on working.

They are allowed to travel to the working area by their private vehicles.
