HCMC – The Taipei International Machine Tool Show 2025 (TIMTOS 2025) kicked off on March 3 in Taiwan, with artificial intelligence (AI) and smart manufacturing highlighted as key drivers of transformation in the sector.

TIMTOS 2025, now in its 30th edition, is co-organized by TAITRA and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI). The event showcases innovations in five major application sectors: semiconductors, electric vehicles, medical, aerospace, and renewable energy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, James Huang, chairman of TAITRA, stated that AI and smart manufacturing are accelerating the transformation of Taiwan’s machinery industry. He urged Taiwan to leverage AI advantages and lead the global machine tool industry into a new era of smart manufacturing.

Johnny Chuang, chairman of TAMI, said the industry remains resilient despite economic headwinds and is increasingly prioritizing carbon footprint transparency, energy efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing.

The six-day event takes place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 & 2 and Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. It is expected to attract more than 50,000 attendees, including over 3,000 pre-registered foreign visitors from 87 countries.

This year, the exhibition features leading Taiwanese and international manufacturers, with newcomers such as Germany’s gear machining specialist Liebherr and Italy’s forging machine maker Mecolpress. National pavilions from Switzerland, Germany, and the United States further highlight TIMTOS’s role as a global industry platform.
