HCMC – Air India has announced a plan to inaugurate direct air service between New Delhi and HCMC from June 1.

This move aims to tap into the burgeoning outbound tourism market from India to Vietnam, highlighting the increasing connectivity between South Asia and Southeast Asia.

According to a press release by Air India, the flights will be operated using A320neo aircraft with two classes of seating, offering five weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Passengers from the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Europe will have the option to transit to Vietnam via New Delhi using this service.

Air India’s operations in the Southeast Asian region already include direct flights from India to Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket (Thailand), and Yangon (Myanmar).

Statistics from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam indicate that India ranked among the top 10 international markets in terms of visitor arrivals to Vietnam during the first two months of 2024, with 79,300 visitors.
