HCMC – The traffic police have issued a warning about potential traffic accidents on three newly opened expressways connecting Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province and Dau Giay, Dong Nai Province.
On August 11, the road traffic patrol police under the Traffic Police Department announced plans to station patrol teams at the access points of the expressways from Nha Trang to Dau Giay to alert drivers about potential traffic accidents and maintain traffic order.
Ten accidents have taken place on Dau Giay-Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet-Vinh Hao, and Cam Lam-Nha Trang expressways since they were opened to traffic three months ago. The accidents caused six fatalities and 12 injuries.
The Traffic Police Department attributed the accidents to the lack of lighting systems, surveillance camera systems and rest areas on the expressways.
