Another linked to food vendor in HCMC’s District 3 infected with Covid-19

HCMC – A 33-year-old woman, who was in close contact with a Covid-19 patient who is a food vendor in HCMC’s District 3, has tested positive for the virus, according to the HCMC Department of Health.

She had her sample taken for Covid-19 testing, using the polymerase chain reaction method, on May 20 and the result came back negative. On May 25, she underwent a serology test but the result was positive, news site VnExpress reported.

She is being quarantined in Thu Duc City. Nine F1 cases have been found and had their samples taken for Covid-19 testing.

Thus, five people linked to the food vendor have been diagnosed with Covid-19, including the 33-year-old woman and two sons, a daughter and a grandchild of the food vendor, while the food vendor’s source of infection still remains unknown.

Among the 83 F1 cases of the food vendor, 79 have tested negative for the coronavirus. All people in close contact with the two sons have also tested negative.

In addition, seven people who had close contact with the grandchild have tested negative and the result of one more person has yet to be worked out.

As for the daughter, 23 F1 cases have tested negative and two others are awaiting their testing results.

More than 1,000 people related to these patients have undergone Covid-19 tests and their results were all negative once. The city later conducted serology tests on 106 people and one tested positive for the virus, 99 others tested negative, while the results of six others have yet to be produced.
