HCMC – The 11th HCMC Ao Dai Festival opened on March 7, featuring an array of amazing ao dai collections, reaffirming the significance of Vietnam’s traditional attire.
The opening ceremony took place at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park and Nguyen Hue walking street in District 1.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Van Duoc, chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, emphasized the festival’s role in preserving and promoting the beauty of the ao dai while further spreading Vietnam’s cultural values. The festival also serves to promote Vietnam and HCMC as vibrant cultural and tourist destinations, he added.
This year’s event marks the beginning of a series of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
The festival features over 30 prominent figures as brand ambassadors, including politicians, economists, beauty queens, singers, and actors. Nearly 60 ao dai designers from across the country are showcasing collections that highlight Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage.
One of the festival’s highlights is a mass performance featuring over 50,000 participants in ao dai, alongside a parade of traditional Vietnamese attire known as “Bach Hoa Bo Hanh.”
The festival is held across multiple locations, including the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park, Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, Lam Son Park, and cultural and historical sites. A wide range of activities will be hosted, celebrating the timeless elegance of the ao dai and its role in Vietnam’s cultural identity.
