HCMC – Tim Cook, chief executive officer of Apple Inc., has arrived in Hanoi for a two-day working visit to Vietnam, during which he is expected to meet with Vietnamese content creators and program developers.
Apple’s leader flew to Vietnam on a private jet this morning, April 15. He is reportedly staying at a five-star hotel in the capital city.
Upon his arrival, he expressed his excitement, saying that he was incredibly eager to meet with students, content creators, and customers, gaining insights into the diverse ways they utilize Apple products, said local news reports.
Alongside Cook’s presence in Vietnam, Apple also affirmed its long-term connection with Vietnam, which includes boosting spending on suppliers and supporting clean water initiatives at local schools.
In 2024, Apple is expected to expand its vocational training program for people with disabilities to provide them with greater opportunities in the supply chain, as well as continue to conduct programs within the US$50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund and increase investment in Vietnamese suppliers.
During a meeting with the then President Vo Van Thuong in November 2023, Cook said that Vietnam’s digital economy has been growing strongly. More and more global electronics and tech firms have been deploying investment, production, and business activities in Vietnam.
