Bamboo Capital chairman acquires five million BCG shares

HCMC – Nguyen Ho Nam, chairman of Bamboo Capital Group JSC, whose shares are traded on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange under the code BCG, has purchased five million BCG shares.

The share purchase was conducted from December 2 to 14, raising his ownership in BCG to 15.63%, or some 83.4 million shares, the local media reported.

Between January and September, BCG made over VND3.3 trillion in revenue, soaring by 74% year-on-year, and VND885 billion in after-tax profit, up 26% against the year-ago period.

At the close today, December 16, BCG gained over 1% and reported a matching volume of more than 9.3 million shares.

On the HCMC bourse, the VN-Index inched down 2.84 points, or 0.27%, from the session earlier, at 1,052.48, ending its winning streak of three sessions. Over 881.5 million shares worth VND15.5 trillion changed hands, up 20.5% in volume and 25.7% in value against the previous session.

In the VN30 basket, 15 stocks gained, while 14 others lost steam. The VRE, VIC and VHM stocks of the Vingroup family were among the main drags of the VN-Index.

Steelmaker HPG surged 5.4% at the close and took the lead by liquidity on bourse with 55.4 million shares changing hands.

The Hanoi exchange closed the day on upbeat note as the HNX-Index added 0.04 points, or 0.02%, from the previous session, at 212.99, with 90 gainers and 69 losers.
