HCMC – Becamex Infrastructure Development JSC, which trades its IJC shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, plans to raise VND2.52 trillion by selling more than 251.8 million new shares to existing shareholders.
The offering will be conducted at a ratio of 3:2, meaning shareholders will be entitled to buy two new shares for every three held, at a price of VND10,000 per share. Transactions are expected to be carried out between 2025 and 2026.
Proceeds from the issuance will be used to fund a series of infrastructure projects and debt repayments.
Becamex IJC plans to allocate VND1.16 trillion to the BOT project for upgrading and expanding National Highway 13 in Binh Duong Province, VND714.9 billion to contribute capital to Becamex – Binh Phuoc Infrastructure Development JSC, VND374.5 billion to repay principal and interest to lenders and bondholders, and VND265 billion to invest in the HCMC-Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh Expressway project.
In February 2024, Becamex IJC also conducted a rights offering to existing shareholders at a 2:1 ratio, issuing over 125.9 million shares to raise its charter capital from VND2.53 trillion to VND3.78 trillion.
Following the completion of the offering, as of December 31, 2024, Becamex IJC had only one major shareholder—Becamex IDC—holding 49.8% of its charter capital, while the remaining 50.2% was held by minority shareholders, each owning less than 5%.
Closing the trading session today, March 21, IJC fell by 0.7% day-on-day to VND14,200, with 3.6 million shares changing hands.
Regarding the stock market, the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange today lost 2.05 points, or 0.15%, against yesterday’s session, closing at 1,321.88 points, with 196 winners and 244 losers.
Nearly 805.5 million shares worth VND16.96 trillion were traded on bourse, down by 12.35% in volume and 13.8% in value compared to the previous session. Block deal transactions contributed around VND1.95 trillion to the overall value.
The VN30 basket ended the session slightly lower by 0.7%, despite decliners outnumbering advancers by 16 to 10 up.
Notably, VIC bucked the overall market trend, closing up 2.9% at its intraday high of VND53,000 per share. Other gainers included FPT, which rose 2.4%, and VHM, up 1.9%—together contributing approximately 3.5 points to the overall index.
On the other hand, bank stocks remained a drag on the market, led by lender VCB, which fell 1.2% to end the day at its lowest level of VND66,000 per share.
On the northern bourse, the HNX-Index inched up by 0.05 point, or 0.02%, day-on-day, at 245.85 points, with 69 advancers and 89 decliners. The total trading volume reached 43.4 million shares, valued at VND660.3 billion.
